One of my memories from college was hearing a quote from Dr. John G Mitchell. Over the years of my education I can’t tell you how many times I heard his quote being said over and over.
“Don’t you folks ever read your Bibles?”
We have become a culture of christians where we really love information and reading about what others have to say about that information and then agreeing with that information.
We have a hard time reading the Bible for ourselves….
We have the gift of accessibility that we can pick up our phones and read, yet we still probably haven’t actually read the Bible the entire way through. A few years ago in our Young Adult guys discipleship group we started doing a Bible read through. We would read every week and would come back and share the things that stood out to us and why.
Every week we would come and just share about the word…
The Bible changes people and we started seeing lives transformed by being immersed in the word of God.
This past week Mike shared with us the importance of the word and us as a church being re:calibrated by loving and exhaling the word of God. Our desire as a church is to see people in the word and exhaling the word of God, join us as we journey through the Bible together.
