What does a typical Alpha session look like?

First up, Food.

Food brings people together. It’s no different at Alpha. We start with food as it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other.

Next, a Talk.

The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Generally thirty minutes long, each video will help us explore the significant issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith?

Then, Discussion.

Probably the most essential part of any Alpha is the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.

What are some of the topics that are covered during the course?

alpha-3

Who is Jesus?
Why did Jesus die?
Why and how do I pray?
Should I read the Bible?
How does God guide us?
How can I resist evil?
Does God heal today?

Who is Alpha for?

The course is for anyone, but especially for persons who are not a part of any church and are just curious about Christianity.

It is also suitable for new or mature Christians seeking to strengthen their knowledge of the Christian faith.
